The Sun Series

I use long exposure times (four minutes to one hour and a half) to create a fusion between my body and the sun. In essence, the pictures are a melding of the physical and the spiritual.

Medium:
Selenium toned gelatin silver prints (1.html to 8.html)
Unique Polaroid prints (9.html to 14.html)

Format:
20x24” and 30x40” (gelatin silver prints)
4x5” (unique Polaroid prints)

All the photos were taken with the Type 55 Polaroid film that gives you a negative and a positive image simultaneously.

The unique Polaroid prints:
After the films have been processed, the positive prints were transformed over a significant period of time (two weeks to one year) through different chemical reactions and exposures to the elements before they were treated for permanence.
